I have been concerned for quite a while about the self-destructive nature of Humanity towards nature and the environment.

I have been deeply worried about what is going to happen over the coming years to the planet on which we all live and breathe.

And so it was that a desire nurtured within me to create something, a sort of a personal spell against the evil that we see increasingly affecting the natural environment, something to remind us and alert us to this.

The “SOS – Planet Earth” sculpture is the “seat” that takes us to the arid, dystopian landscape, denoting a darkened future for our planet’s environment, shaped by the ravages of climate change on the entire ecosystem.

Is there still hope? Is there?

Είναι καιρός που με απασχολεί έντονα η αυτοκαταστροφική θέση που έχει πάρει παγκόσμια ο Άνθρωπος απέναντι στην φύση και το περιβάλλον. Που μέσα μου νοιώθω βαθιά την αγωνία για το τι πρόκειται να συμβεί τα επόμενα χρόνια στον πλανήτη που ζούμε και αναπνέουμε.

Έτσι γεννήθηκε εντός μου, πηγαία σχεδόν, η ιδέα να δημιουργήσω κάτι σαν ένα ξόρκι προσωπικό, απέναντι στο κακό που βλέπουμε να πλήττει όλο και περισσότερο το φυσικό περιβάλλον, να μας θυμίζει και να μας αφυπνεί.

Το γλυπτό ‘SOS - Planet Earth’ είναι το ‘κάθισμα’ που μας μεταφέρει στο άνυδρο δυστοπικό τοπίο του σκοτεινού περιβαλλοντικού μέλλοντος του πλανήτη μας, έτσι όπως διαμορφώνεται από τις επιπτώσεις της κλιματικής αλλαγής σε ολόκληρο το οικοσύστημα.

Υπάρχει ακόμα ελπίδα;
